El Índice Mundial de Innovación de 2025: Latinoamérica y el Caribe

Hoy se anunció la publicación de la 18.ª edición del Índice Mundial de Innovación (GII, por sus siglas en inglés). Publicado desde 2007, el GII ha sido una fuente útil de análisis para medir la innovación. Consulta aquí mis reportes sobre ediciones anteriores del GII.

El GII de 2025 fue publicado por la Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual (OMPI), en colaboración con el Instituto Portulans.

El GII de 2025 contiene la más reciente clasificación mundial de innovación de más de 130 economías, basándose en 78 indicadores. El tema del informe de este año es “La innovación en la encrucijada”.

El Explorador de ecosistemas y datos de innovación del GII de 2025 (en inglés) muestra las reseñas sobre el desempeño de cada economía con respecto a todos los indicadores, destacando sus puntos fuertes y áreas de mejora en materia de innovación. Este año se agregó un nuevo filtro que permite revisar el desempeño de la innovación en las siguientes regiones: África, ASEAN, Unión Europea, Latinoamérica y los PMA.

11th Session of the WIPO Conversation on IP & Frontier Technologies: Infrastructure for Rights Holders and Innovation

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will hold the Eleventh Session of the WIPO Conversation on Intellectual Property and Frontier Technologies (formerly WIPO Conversation on IP and AI) on 23 and 24 April 2025.

The theme of the eleventh session is “Infrastructure for Rights Holders and Innovation”. The session aims to bring together stakeholders to discuss, inter alia, the challenges that AI poses for copyright, including rights management, attribution and compensation.

The agenda comprises the following topics:

Copyright infrastructure.
Infrastructure for training data.
Infrastructure for outputs.
The EU AI Act and Code of Practice.
